Why Choose Cremation?
Cremation is an aftercare alternative for pets, often used in place of burial. Cremation allows families to take the cremains home or disperse in a special area of their choosing. Opposed to burial, cremation provides portability of the cremains, allowing families to take the cremains with them if they move. Wichita Valley Pet Cremation understands the special place a pet holds in the lives of pet parents and we pride ourselves in ensuring your beloved pet is treated with care and respect throughout the cremation process.
Why Choose Wichita Valley Pet Cremation?
As your local pet cremation service, our family at Wichita Valley Pet Cremation is here to serve you. We seek to accommodate your needs and work with you to create unique and meaningful ways to honor your pet’s memory, in a timely manner. It is our honor to serve and support you through this difficult time with dignity and respect.
How do I know I'm getting my pet's cremated remains back and not someone else's?
Wichita Valley Pet Cremation uses an identification system which involves a stainless-steel metal tag with a unique identification number. It then follows your pet through the cremation process. The tag remains in the chamber with their pet during the entire cremation process and comes home with your pet’s cremains. When using Wichita Valley Pet Cremation, you can have confidence that your pet is being cared for as a member of our own family.
About how long will the cremation take?
Since we are a local company, our goal is to have the care package returned within 3 days of pickup/drop-off. However, with the addition of clay paw prints, your return time is about 5 days total. Special orders may require additional time as well.
What happens if my pet dies at home? Who do I call?
In the event of a home death, you may call 940-782-2842. We answer our phone 24 hours a day. In the event of a death during non-business hours, we can set an appointment for you to bring your pet to our location, or we can come to your home and bring your pet into our care. We will inform you as soon as your pet’s cremated remains are ready to be picked up or we can deliver them to your home. (An extra charge applies for home pickup and home delivery.)
We are having our pet euthanized at our local vet clinic. Then what?
If your vet office doesn’t currently use Wichita Valley Pet Cremation, feel free to call us to arrange care for your pet, and let your vet know that WVPC will be picking your baby up. We will transport your pet from the veterinary office and take care of the cremation for you. If you choose, you can personally bring your pet to our facility as well. Please call 940-782-2842 to make an appointment. We will call you as soon as your pet’s cremated remains are ready to be picked up or we can deliver them to your home. (An extra charge may apply for home delivery.)
Do I have to purchase an urn?
No. An urn is not required. We offer a lovely cedar wood box/urn or a velvet scatter bag. If you elect to not purchase an urn we will treat your pet’s remains with dignity, and return them in whatever fashion you desire. If communal cremation is best for your family, we will scatter respectfully on our farm. We would be happy to discuss options with you to assist you in memorializing your pet.
What is the cost of each service?
The cost of each service varies depending on your pet’s size and weight. Visit our website or pick up one of our brochures to determine which care package fits your needs. Please call for specific pricing, based on your need and your pet’s size 940-782-2842. If you are going through your vet who is partnered with us, please check with them for their pricing.
If I want to keep my pet’s collar and/or tags do I need to remove these prior to the cremation process?
